Welcome to REACH - Gossett Residential Facility

Team Leaders:
Robin Bigelow (rtb46@cornell.edu)
Amy Sones (aes87@cornell.edu)

Lewis Gossett, Jr. Residential Center is a residential facility for incarcerated males ages 13 to 18 and is located about 25 minutes from Cornell.

At Gossett, tutors have the opportunity to work with very small groups of students or individual students tutoring in either core subject areas or GED preparation. This is an invaluable opportunity to provide support and mentorship to an at-risk population and also to learn about the juvenile justice system. We ask that you commit about 4 hours each week as a tutor in one of the allotted time slots listed below. We will put together groups of about 3 to 4 volunteers and use cars or vans to get to Gossett (so please let us also know if you have a car).

These are the available time slots for volunteers:

Monday – Thursday 9:05 AM – 11:30 AM

Monday – Thursday 12:25 PM – 2:50 PM

Monday – Thursday 1:15 PM – 3:40 PM
